Tim Roberts Interview

Fri Mar 6, 2009 3:54PM

We sit down with what has become our annual chat with Tim Roberts. The 2008 Monster Truck Champion.

The 2007 interview is posted HERE

RC Pro: This seems like deja!
Seems we did this about a year ago?
Tim: And a year before that too! I've been very fortunate the last three years to claim the RC Pro Monster truck title.

RC Pro: Which also makes you the only racer to win 3 RC Pro titles in the same class! as well as the only one to win 3 straight!
Tim: That's not so say the competition hasn't been strong though.

RC Pro: Because of all that we will see if we can ask some questions we haven't in the past
The Monster Truck class may be smaller than in years past but it definitely has the competition!
I've heard all the BS about the pro guys running equipment no one else can get....... so how STOCK is your truck?
Tim: My truck is your every day off-the-shelf truck, but over the years I've learned some tricks to make it more reliable and handle a little better. Nothing I do can't be repeated. I'm willing to share my secrets to anybody that asks.

1/8 Electric Buggy Sponsor

Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:12PM

We would like to welcome Castle Creations as the 1/8 Electric Buggy Sponsor for 2009. It's only fitting that Castle is the sponsor for this class since they have been one of the 1st companies to produce motors and speed controls for the 1/8 conversions.

Please take a look at their product line for the 1/8 buggies as well as the rest of their brushless line.

New RC Pro Division

Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:02AM

RC Pro Announcement

New Division

2009 RC Pro will add a new division to the Nitro Offroad Series. This will be the Mid-South Division which will encompass Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
The tracks are:
Preemo's RC - Whitehouse, TN.
Nitro Fever - Wilsonville, AL.
Flowood RC - Flowood, MS.

The dates are being put on the schedule now. They will be at the bottom of the schedule until I can restructure the page to move them up with the other US event.

As it has been for a few years now racers can score national points at any race on our schedule but can only win a division championship with points scored in that division. We should see racers from the states surrounding this new division participating plus the racers that live in the new division who may not have raced in the series before so turnout for these races should be pretty good.

Schedule

We have a few races left to post on the 2009 schedule. We try to work around known races in each division which is a lot of the reason it takes so long. I also got a later start this year than in the past. We thought we had a clear date for round 2 of the East but as soon as it was posted we were informed it was conflicting with another event. We are in the process of finding another date that works.

The Shirts are BACK!

Last year we tried other items for the early entry hand out simply because we have done shirts for 4 years and have had people make the comment well I don't need another shirt. Well the overwelming response has been bring the shirts back so we are. To get a free shirt you MUST signup by the early entry deadline listed on the race flier (usually 2 ½ weeks before the event). Due to the economy this year we will not be ordering an over abundance of shirts for each event. I'm sure we will have a few extras at times so if you want an event shirt signup early. If you want an extra for someone else email us and let us know so we can plan for it. Any extra shirts will be the same cost they always have been $10.
