2009 International Finals
Fri Apr 3, 2009 3:41PM
The 2009 International Finals will be held on the same weekend we have used now for the 6th year (2nd weekend in November) and at the same location we have used now for 3 years - The Diamond W Arena in Alvarado Texas.
November 3rd - 8th 2009
This years schedule will be much the same as in the past with the exception of the banquet on Sunday. More and more people have used Sunday as a travel day and have not been attending the banquet so this year we will do the awards during the after party on saturday night to free up Sunday as a travel day for the racers and tear down day for us.

East Round 1
Wed Mar 25, 2009 9:42PM
East Round 1 at Badlands in Myrtle Beach has been post-poned!
As I'm sure most of you have seen the weather is not cooperating for this weekend. The weather forecast is for 70-80% chance of rain until saturday with it currently pouring and more moving into the area. It doesn't look like there will be a break and no clear forecast for the rain to stop to be able to get the track in race condition.
As much as I hate to put it on the same weekend as the race in Charlotte that is the lesser evil. The 18th weekend there is a Florida State race and a South Carolina state race. The weekend of the 12th is easter and only moving the race by 1 weekend makes it real tough for the racers to do. We can't go into May because we get into the same problems with other series races plus we already have an RC Pro race in May in Florida. After May the hotel prices almost triple in Myrtle Beach so thats not an option either. Basically we only have one choice.
Based on a large number of racer input during the day today everyone except for one has said to leave it on the 24th weekend. A lot have already changed their vacation days at work today as well as their hotel reservations by the time I posted we were looking at other options this morning.
The issue is every track on the eastcoast has filled the schedule with larger races to the point of not having an open weekend where we won't interfere with something. We try to schedule our races to not conflict with any others but we just don't have any other options.
If you have entered and paid but see you can't make the new date of April 24th-26th please contact Travis with the track.
Hopefully everyone can make the new date.
thanks
Carlton

Pro Class Explanation
Wed Mar 18, 2009 4:22PM
I am hearing there have been a number of questions on various forums about the Pro class this year. As it has been since last year the explanation is in the rules but I will post it here. If anyone asks the question please direct them to this page so they get the true explanation not some of the speculation that is on forums.
Based on the rules below there may be a few who this could miss who would be considered Pro in their respective divisions. Because of that I am seeking the advice of the track owners in each division as well as asking for resumes from any of these racers who feel they should be in the Pro class. Please send those to nitrooffroad@rcprosites.com
Pro Class.
For 2009 the the previous Pro list from 2008 will be our Pro class drivers. The top 3 in each division in expert at the end of 2008 plus the top 5 Nationally in Expert will also bump to the Pro class (after the International Finals). Also the following applies for Pro class qualifications. Past RC Pro Expert National Championship, Division Championship or ROAR National Championship or placed in the A Main at a ROAR Nats or IFMAR Worlds will automatically be in the Pro class. As with anything loop holes are pointed out so because of that possibility we will also allow a racer who feels they SHOULD be in the Pro class to submit a resume for review. These will be reviewed and based on past performances in RC Pro and other large events these racers may be allowed to enter the Pro classes. These resumes for review should be sent to nitrooffroad@rcprosites.com
WHY a Pro Class?
This is designed to equalize the competition as much as possible in the Expert/Open class by moving the racers who have dominated that class into the Pro class. These racers are in fact PRO drivers. By equalizing the Expert class it should in turn make room for the Intermediate drivers who SHOULD be in expert to move up and truly make Intermediate for the racers described in that class definition. You do not qualify for the Pro class by your sponsorship level you qualify by your performance as described in that section.
